Wu Tao Kwoon is a Kenkyu-Kai.
Our mission is to spread the traditional teachings of the old Masters of martial arts and the humanistic growth it provides. We also aim to preserve the old forms and techniques of the ancient martial arts.
What does Kenkyu-Kai mean?
Kenkyu-Kai literally means “Research Club”. As an aspirant in traditional Karate, the Karate-ka (karate student) embarks on a lifelong journey for self study not only physically but also mentally and at higher levels spiritually. Our training facility provides a friendly atmosphere for excellent individualized instructions. Students do not compete against each other, rather they compete against themselves. The dept and intensity of the quality instruction they receive promotes and encourages self-discipline, courtesy, honor, and respect towards others and other Martial Arts styles. In addition, they gain an insight to a whole new culture, learn about China, Japan and Okinawa; its people their customs and way of life, history, philosophy and other theoretical aspects of the ancient martial arts. Students receive a well rounded education, taught by caring and knowledgeable instructors.
Our Mottos:
“Strength without a gentle heart is the strength of fools and cowards”.
"In this uncertain world, ours should be a path of discipline".
"The taller the bamboo grows, the lower it bows."
The Wu Tao Kwoon International earlier known as Budokan Martial Arts & Fitness Institute was founded in1986. Wu Tao Kwoon is not a style of martial art, rather it is an organization in which different styles of martial arts, fitness and stress management are practiced and taught
