About Mahesh S, Kamat
Mr. Kamat has been a personal disciple of Grand Master Chew Choo Soot of Malaysia (the Founder of the Budokan Style of Karate). He had a personal relationship with the Grand Master and the training in Karate and Kung fu he received will always remain the most precious moments of his life. The lesson in other matters and the secrets he received will also be treasured and respected. He was awarded the rank of  5th Dan  in 1994 by the Grand Master.
His first instructor has been Shihan Lester Saldanha of Mangalore (One of the senior most instructors of India).
He has also received advanced training in Wushu – Kung fu from Master Mark Simon Batt of UK ( All European Wushu Champion 1990) who received his advanced training in China from the Wushu Research Institute in Beijing.
Mr. Kamat has also gone on to the research and study many more styles of martial arts and health arts from different others masters to whom he will always be grateful.
Mr. Kamat has over 35 years experience in Karate, Wushu- Kung fu, Taijiquan, Qigong, Yoga, Fitness and Nutrition.
He has been teaching Martial Arts, health arts and fitness since 1984 and now for 33 years.

Mr. Mahesh Kamat did advanced courses at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) connected to which is the Australian Collage of Sports Education in Canberra. He was fortunate enough to get selected for a Commonwealth Government scholarship during his stay while teaching Karate, Wushu-Kung fu and Tai Chi Chuan.

The AIS is where the Olympic team lives and trains. As part of his courses Mr. Kamat had to work with and learn from the Australian Olympic coaches and the athletes some of whom were Olympic gold medalists. This experience has been a great asset for Mr. Kamat and he is extremely grateful to all his friends and teachers at the AIS. The “Strength & Conditioning Course” and the “Sports Trainers Course” which he did were especially important. The “S&C” is about Sports Specific Conditioning to enhance performance in different sports. The Sports Trainer Course taught about various training methods and also about injury rehabilitation & reconditioning and bringing the sports person back into high performance, which Mr. Kamat found extremely valuable as an instructor.
During his 4 years stay in Australia Mr. Kamat taught Tai Chi Chuan, Karate, Wushu-Kung Fu and yoga to over 400 people from the ages of 7 to 75 years.

Experience:
Has been teaching Martial Art, Tai Chi, Qigong, yoga and fitness since 1984 and now for 33 years.
He has also seven won medals and trophies in International Karate tournaments in Australia and Malaysia besides having won six Indian National.

Besides being an Instructor he worked as Sports Administrator of the “Police & Community Youth Club, at Parkes, NSW, Australia and later even went on to become the President of the managing committee of the same club, which is a large Sports and Fitness Facility, housing two basketball courts, Gym- weight training, gymnastics equipment facility, halls for classes in karate, judo, aerobics, netball, etc. This centre also holds state level tournaments of various sports. Mr. Kamat was also awarded a memento for his “Dedicated Service” by the , “Police & Community Youth Club, at Parkes, NSW, Australia.in 1998.

Besides Teaching Karate , Tai Chi, Qigong and instructing at health clubs and gyms he, has conducted, Chi Healing (Qigong), Stress Management Classes for adults and Senior Citizens

9. Taught Adult Tai Chi course at the Hotel Delmon in Panaji.
10. Managed the Super Fitness Centre at Vasco –da-Gama, from 2003 to 2007
11. Taught Sports Drills  classes at Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim, Goa, (Jun -  December 2008)
12 Taught Martial Arts at Neval Children's School, Chicalim 2009.
13. Been producing Instructional/ doucmentaries , video films on  Martial Arts.
14. Started Women's Safety Workshops called PAPAS Initiative and has passed it into 107 schools in Goa.  This has been passed on so far to about 14,000 women in Goa.
